Street Harvest (Audible Audio Edition) Aya Walksfar Kathlyn Miles Books
I have been a fan of Aya Walksfar since I read "Dead Men and Cats." Since then I've read all her books. Every one of them is good, but this is the best. I've never read a book about crime solving that was so full of appropriately-related and meaningful "other things." She brings in Native American spirituality, a young but wise-beyond-her-years seer, and strong children, to name a few of those "other things." And The Sisterhood--my favorite!I love strong women characters; women are not given nearly enough credit in this world. Nor are they always allowed to step up the way Aya's characters do. Bravo to Aya on an entertaining and meaningful novel!
All the while keeping her readers' interest, she draws our attention to the critical problem of our missing children. In this country (USA), which professes to adore children, something stinks.

Street Harvest (Audible Audio Edition) Aya Walksfar Kathlyn Miles Books Reviews
Book Two of the Special Crimes Team doesn't disappoint. It is as interesting and thought provoking as Sketch of a Murder, Book One. Well done, Aya.
Street Harvest is the second installment in the Nita Slowater series created by Aya Walksfar. In this book, Aya writes about missing children and one of the reasons for their disappearances. Although this is a fictional story, it is scary to think that this does happen in real life. As a parent, this is one of my greatest fears, no matter how old my children become. Aya weaves this sensitive issue perfectly into her storyline. I know I have said this before, but this time I truly mean it, this was a fantastic read.
Each story was very interesting, and I enjoyed the fact that it was in a boxed set, so I could enjoy each one, right after the other. I like Nita and her entrance in the SCaT department. She is an interesting cop, and though she knocks heads with others, she has great chemistry with the other characters. It starts with Sketch of a Murder, which outlines not only the case of the SCaT, but also introduces the members of the team, and Dawn, a reporter. Each book is interesting and becomes its own story. The only thing I was disappointed in, is that some of the wording is too detailed or overly detailed, when a simple, leave it to the reader's imagination would do. Walksfar is a good character creator and the stories are recommended, either as separate or as this boxed set. This set contains street harvest, old woman gone, and Backlash. Each one a well written story.
I purchased read this book in the boxed set, but am posting it on the individual books contained the boxed set
Everyone with a social conscience who also loves a good mystery should read this well written book. I look forward to more I. This series.
I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of writing in this book. The author uses great descriptive and drew me in. The characters are strong and interesting and the story is solid, and about a serious problem in the world that only seems to be getting worse. Honestly I didn't think I would like the book because I felt the storyline would be hard to write well but the author did a great job and I am now a fan. I have read a lot of independent writers and many leave a lot to be desired but Walksfar did a great job. I was impressed! Did I already mention that?
I bought this because I watched a documentary recently with a similar design. Aya is a good story teller, what I read matched with what I saw in the film. That aside, I felt a strong sense of the authors demeanor throughout the book. When children go missing, four individuals, including, Jamie a woman with a strong sixth sense and a stronger attitude and passionate heart began solving horrendous crimes against children.
They’re on the hunt for two men whose responsibility for the crimes must be proven, an unconvinced Lieutenant of the special crimes team adds to the uphill battle. With young children’s lives on the line, laws are broken and things get tight.
A well crafted novel that will suite any crime fanatics taste. I will certainly be looking into some of the author’s works in the weeks to come.
